TCK acting and theater lessons are designed to promote children’s interest in learning about theater, acting, speech and articulation, movement, voice projection and vocal sounds. The goal being for children to appreciate and use skills learned in theater and acting lessons to successfully communicate and express themselves in any setting.
The teaching artists/instructors facilitate a supportive, positive and fun environment for the students. Students participate in-group activities, including dance and movement. They develop skills to focus, actively listen and practice. They learn about theater elements and vocabulary, script writing and acting fundamentals. Students gain knowledge of how bodies move and how to use that movement on stage to help create character. Students participate in level appropriate improvisational games and exercises to promote focus, confidence, and team building.
At the end of each session students are encouraged to take part in a demonstration of skills learned, or a short musical or theatrical presentation in front of an audience (parents and friends).
